Black Jesus and Ethiopia, Africa Historical maps often referred to the current region of Africa as Ethiopia. In fact, the name Ethiopia is mentioned 43 times in the 66-book canonical Bible, and even more frequently in the 81-book canon of the Ethiopian Orthodox Bible, which also includes numerous non-canonical texts with substantial evidence. In Amos 9:7, God rebukes the children of Israel by comparing them to the Cushites (Ethiopians), indicating that Africans were highly regarded by God as the first people to follow Him righteously, as affirmed in Psalms 68:31, where Ethiopia is praised for its devotion to God. Furthermore, Daniel 7:9, Isaiah 52:14 and Isaiah 53:2 suggest that the common depictions of Jesus are inaccurate, implying that the original Jews, including Jesus, were black. Psalms 87:4 refers to Ethiopians and Palestinians as being from Zion, and 2 Chronicles 21:16 mentions them as neighbors, reinforcing the notion that Jesus was black. These evidences, found in the 66-book Bible, strongly support the claim that Jesus was black.
